Viva Design Miniatures

  • What kind of content do you share?

I post videos and behind-the-scenes content of dollhouse renovations, miniature furniture builds, and full restorations. I love sharing the creative process and often ask my audience for design input and ideas along the way.

  • Where can I follow your work?

You can find me on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest — just search @VivaDesignMiniatures. That’s where I share all the projects I’m working on and updates about upcoming builds.

  • Do you sell the dollhouses that you make or restore?

Nope — the finished dollhouses I've restored are gifted through The Second Story Project and aren’t for sale. Each one undergoes a custom renovation and then gifted to someone through a nomination process.

  • Can I request or purchase a custom dollhouse?

Not at this time. Right now, my focus is on completing one house at a time for The Second Story Project. But I love hearing your ideas and suggestions in the comments!

  • Do you offer miniature furniture or decor for sale?

I sell DIY furniture kits and also offer free digital file downloads of my furniture builds on my website. If you like to build your own pieces, it’s a great way to get started with the same designs I use in my houses. You can access my free digital downloads here.

The Second Story Project

  • Is there any cost to apply or receive a dollhouse?

No — submitting a nomination is completely free, and there is no cost to receive a dollhouse if selected.

  • Who can be nominated?

Anyone 13 or older who lives in Florida, has an intellectual disability, and has enough space for a large dollhouse (approx. 48”W x 36”D x 36”H). You can nominate yourself or someone else.

  • Why is the minimum age for a nominee 13?

Miniatures are just that — miniature! Each dollhouse includes lots of small pieces, and often tiny magnets or button batteries. They’re not suitable or safe for young children, so I limit nominations to ages 13 and up to make sure the houses are enjoyed safely and appropriately.

  • How often are dollhouses gifted?

I gift one dollhouse every 12–16 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the renovation.

  • Do I have to be filmed if I'm selected?

No — while I love sharing the process of building and gifting each house on social media, there’s absolutely no requirement to be filmed or featured when receiving a dollhouse.

  • What happens if the recipient outgrows the dollhouse?

I ask that dollhouses be regifted, not sold, if the recipient ever outgrows it. These houses are meant to be passed on and loved again — continuing the story for someone new.

  • Is The Second Story Project a non-profit?

No, The Second Story Project is not a registered nonprofit. It’s funded through a mix of social media income, donations from supporters, and gifted dollhouses, miniatures, and supplies from the amazing miniature community. While support is deeply appreciated, donations and gifted supplies are not tax-deductible.

  • How can I support The Second Story Project?

There are several ways to support this project, and every bit truly helps.

  • Watch and share my content on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest — views and engagement help fund future builds.

  • Send a donation through the PayPal button located at the top of my website.

  • Gift supplies or miniatures — donated items often find their way into future dollhouses.

  • Spread the word — telling others about the project helps it grow and reach the people who need it most.

Even the smallest support makes a big impact — and I’m incredibly grateful for this community that helps bring each house to life.
